From the Bible, we understand hospitality to be a lifestyle and a mindset of folding people into your life. If Covenant Baptist Church becomes your church home, you will probably find that a lot of the ministry done in this church happens through hospitality. Practically, how does that happen?
Share a Meal or Activity Together
We know it can be awkward for newcomers to have to be the ones to invite people over or out for a meal, so we have aimed to create a culture where hospitality is normal. It is our hope that members will invite newer folks to share meals and get together for activities. We also hope that people, no matter how new, feel comfortable inviting long-term members to do the same.
Hang Out After Service
This is a very easy way to get to know people and practice hospitality. It is common for people to stay and talk with one another after our Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services. Refreshments are available during this time, and we hope the post-service time is a good opportunity for people to meet others they do not know and make initial connections with people in the church.
Monthly Fellowship Meals
Once a month, usually on the first Sunday of the month, we have a fellowship meal after our morning service. Members and visitors are encouraged to stay and participate. We do these meals potluck style, and there is always enough food to go around. These meals provide an excellent opportunity for people to engage in conversation and get to know others in the congregation.
